Protecting Children --
Our children need to be safe whether they are at school or at home. I have supported legislation to allow DHS to take immediate action against entities putting our children at risk (SB 1515), provide funding for a school safety hotline (HB 4057) where potential threats can be reported to the proper authorities confidentially and funded community based Child Abuse Intervention Centers (HB 2234).
Invasion of Privacy --
Advancements in technology make it even easier to invade someone's privacy. I helped pass legislation that updated Oregon's laws to protect against the latest trends like "Upskirting," video voyeurism and posting intimate pictures online (HB 2356, SB 188).
